Comprising about 55 national and international organizations, the GIMAC Network aims to create a space for civil society to monitor the implementation of the Solemn Declaration on Gender Equality in Africa (SDGEA), mainly by holding bi-annual Pre-Summit Consultative Meetings to the AU Assembly of Heads of State and Government.
“We commit to systematic data gathering, regular review and progress monitoring of the implementation of Agenda 2063 and its 10-year Action Plan using the Solemn Declaration Index (SDI) developed by GIMAC and United Nations Economic Commission (UNECA)” (Assembly/AU/Decl.1 (XXV, Page 6).
